Former Prime Minister Abe’ s resignation and the election of Fukuda was the biggest events this year in Japan. Then it also to be a hottest topic people discussed. Along with the Yasuo Fukuda was elected as the new president of Japan, the various countries' heads express the anticipation to his attitude of Asian diplomacy. They hope he can improve the East Asian countries relations which situation of becoming rigid during Koizumi ruling time. Especially China, America and Korea pay attention to the Fukuda diplomacy. The Bush American government anticipated for repairing their relationship by this chance. At the same time, they also hope Japan could maintain the good relations with China and South Korea, then, maintains East Asians stability. President of South Korean telegram President Fukuda and congratulates Mr. Fukuda to be elected new prime minister then, anticipated bilateral close cooperation for developing the Japanese and South Korean relations. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao also sent a telegram the congratulation then called that China is positive preparing for visiting Japan in spring. Simultaneously, to me as a study abroad student in Japan hope to see good development between Chinese and Japanese relations.

Present Yasuo Fukuda was famous by his mature and steady style. When he was 41 years old his father elected as Japanese prime minister then he transfers to his father’s private secretary and entry into politics. When the first time he became councilor had already 54 years old. After this, he attended to every detail, with a sense of balancing and stabilizing power, content to fall behind others, all of these decided his political style. This caused him got deep trust from Koizumi Junichiro and Mori Yoshiro then, became chief cabinet secretary which authority only inferior to Prime minister. Mr. Fukuda is handy in this position and became a longest reign of public building senior official in the Japanese history. When the reporters asked Present Fukuda “Why was he elected?” He answered that “Maybe they think I’m stable don’t act unreasonably.”

After he took office as Japan's prime minister, he designated America as his first visiting country. In order to gain the supporting from America, he put up the Japanese and American union relates prominent and make it as base of Japanese diplomacy. Fukuda takes U.S. but it doesn’t mean he despises China and other Asian countries. Fukuda's strategy is maintains the balance at these two aspects. He emphasized that he will establish strategy of reciprocal benefit relations with China and advances the Asian diplomacy positively then continues to improve the China policy on his first lecture. Moreover, he will not pay tribute to the Yasukuni Shrine during the tenure of his office. Certainly, stemming from the national interest, the Fukuda cabinet has many differences with China in the very multiple greatly international problems. At some controversial problems, Fukuda will not easily make the concessions. On the other hand, he will attach importance to dialogue and cooperation to solve the problems. It is not possible to manufacture or intensify the contradiction artificially. No matter in administrative or in policy ponder and utilization Present Fukuda is all extremely experienced and mature.

Finally, I hope Fukuda's election may bring a good turn for the Chinese and Japanese relations, both countries may collaborate together, promote trade development. Then, build a good Asian system.
