B seminar 08: Learning Style (Learning About Yourself on the Internet)

This is the first activity of Learning About Yourself on the Internet that I gave you. I think we discussed it back in January.

***** This one, DVC, may be the easiest one. It has 32 questions.

At the end, it tells you your best way to study immediately.

**** The VARK Questionnaire
It just has 13 questions, multiple-choice. You will get a result with a link to a page which explains the characteristics of your learning style. You should be able to go to a page which gives the results for your learning style. After you read about your learning style, you can look at the other learning styles (according to this VARK model), which are linked to on the same page. It gives really good advice, so I recommend this link. The result you get will be one of these words: Visual - Aural - Read/Write - Kinesthetic - Multimodal.

You may want to make a translation of the questions. Sometimes it is hard to choose one.

** This is a simplified learning style test. You read the chart and see which column you usually match the best. It groups people into three kinds of learners.

Reflection and Writing (60-90 minutes)
After investigating your learning style on one or more of the sites above, print out your results, or save them so that you can review them. If you went to more than one site, did you get the same results? (I didn’t! One told me I am kinesthetic, and another told me I am Visual!) Do the results sound like you?
Write a short report about what you found out from this exercise. Print it as one A4 page and give it to your teacher. About 100-150 words would be appropriate.
